Hair & Grooming

Ballet

Hair Option 1: Hair must be worn off the face in a bun.

All Other Dance Styles

Hair Option 1: Long hair must be secured off the face in a ponytail or bun. Use clips or barrettes to secure loose bangs. Short hair must be kept off the face with a headband, clips or barrettes.

Hair Option 2: Longer hair must be worn off the face.

Acro

Clothing: Form-fitting clothing, including tank tops, crop tops, bodysuits and tights, fitted T-shirts, booty shorts, shorts, dance capris or dance pants.
Shoes: Bare feet.

Ballet / Pre-Primary 3

Option 1: Black bodysuit in any style with ballet tights in Mondor Ballerina Pink #316.
Option 1 Shoes: Pink canvas ballet slippers.
Option 2: White T-shirt with black dance pants or shorts above the knee. For syllabus classes, Primary and up: white T-shirt with black tights.
Option 2 Shoes: Black canvas ballet slippers.

Combination Classes

Includes Broadway Babies and Kids Kombo 2 & 3.

Clothing: Form-fitting clothing, including tank tops, crop tops, bodysuits and tights, T-shirts, booty shorts, dance capris, dance pants or shorts.
Shoes: Black gym slippers and black Mary Jane tap shoes, Capezio 3800.
Kids Kombo 3: Any black jazz shoes and black Mary Jane tap shoes, Capezio 3800.

Hip Hop

Clothing: Any attire, including crop tops, tank tops, T-shirts, hoodies, booty shorts or sweatpants.
Shoes: Clean black indoor sneakers with white soles. These shoes must not be worn outside.

Jazz

Clothing: Form-fitting clothing, including tank tops, crop tops, bodysuits and tights, fitted T-shirts, booty shorts, dance capris, dance pants or shorts.
Shoes: Canvas jazz slippers, So Danca BA45.

Kinder Dance

Option 1: Form-fitting clothing, including tank tops, crop tops, bodysuits, fitted T-shirts, booty shorts, shorts, dance capris or dance pants.
Option 2: White T-shirt with black dance pants or shorts above the knee.
Shoes: Clean black indoor sneakers with white soles. These shoes must not be worn outside.

Tap

Clothing: Form-fitting clothing, including tank tops, crop tops, bodysuits and tights, fitted T-shirts, booty shorts, dance capris or dance pants.
Shoes: Black Capezio Mary Jane 3800 tap shoes.
Ages 13+: Black lace-up Capezio CG19 tap shoes.

Twinkle Toes / Pre-Primary 2

Option 1: Pink, purple or baby-blue bodysuit with Mondor Ballerina Pink #316 ballet tights. Skirt optional.
Option 1 Shoes: Pink leather ballet slippers.
Option 2: White T-shirt with black dance pants or shorts above the knee.
Option 2 Shoes: Black leather ballet slippers.

FULL-TIME & PART-TIME

Hair & Grooming

Ballet

Hair Option 1: Hair must be worn off the face in a proper bun, including a hair net and hairpins.

All Other Dance Styles

Hair Option 1: Long hair must be secured off the face in a ponytail or bun. Short hair must be kept off the face with a headband, clips or barrettes.

Hair Option 2: Longer hair must be worn off the face and secured with a bandana or in a ponytail.

Acro

Option 1: Crop top, fitted tank top or bodysuit in any colour or style, with booty shorts or leggings.
Option 2: Form-fitting T-shirt or tank top in any colour or style, with gym shorts above the knee.
Shoes: Bare feet.

Ballet

Option 1: Syllabus Class: Teal custom-made bodysuit, available for purchase only at the studio, with Mondor Ballerina Pink #316 tights.
Option 1 Shoes: Pink canvas ballet slippers, So Danca SD-16. Dancers up to Grade 2 require a second pair of So Danca SD-16 canvas shoes for competitive ballet.
Option 2: Syllabus: White T-shirt with black dance tights or shorts above the knee.
Option 2 Shoes: Black canvas or leather ballet slippers.

Contemporary / Jazz / Lyrical

Option 1: Crop top, fitted tank top or bodysuit in any colour or style, with booty shorts or leggings. Leggings are not permitted for Micro Mini, Mini or Junior companies. Only Part-Time Youth, Intermediate, Teen and Senior company dancers may wear leggings.
Option 2: Form-fitting T-shirt or tank top in any colour or style, with shorts above the knee.
Contemporary Shoes: Bare feet.
Jazz Shoes: Girls: slip-on split-sole neoprene jazz shoes in beige for Full-Time Competitive and black for Part-Time Competitive. Choreography colour may be confirmed by the choreographer. Boys: black slip-on split-sole neoprene jazz shoes.
Lyrical Shoes: Turners, available in three different shades, So Danca BA45. Contact the choreographer to confirm.

Please note: Competitive shoe colours and styles may vary for groups, trios, duets and solos at the choreographer's discretion.

Hip Hop

Shoes: Clean indoor running shoes. These shoes must not be worn outside.

Stretch / Conditioning

Option 1: Crop top, fitted tank top or bodysuit in any colour or style, with booty shorts. No leggings.
Option 2: Form-fitting T-shirt or tank top in any colour or style, with gym shorts above the knee.
Shoes & Equipment: Bare feet, one skipping rope, two yoga blocks and two ankle weights appropriate for the dancer's size and strength.

Tap

Option 1: Crop top, fitted tank top or bodysuit in any colour or style, with booty shorts or leggings.
Option 2: Form-fitting T-shirt or tank top in any colour or style, with gym shorts or pants.
Mini & Junior Shoes: Black lace-up Capezio CG19 tap shoes.
Intermediate & Senior Shoes: Black lace-up So Danca TA-800 and/or Jason Samuels Smith tap shoes.
